Fiji has always been known as a tourist dreamland, with statistics showing that three out of four visitors come for a vacation. This is because Fiji has a beautiful natural setting, with islands, reefs, bodies of water, national parks and marine parks, etc.

If you plan to holiday in Fiji but need to know where to go or what places to visit, this article is for you. Let's look at some of the finest places to make your stay in Fiji not just memorable but full of fun!

Parts Of Fiji That Are The Most Beautiful

Tivua Private Island

Tivua Private Island is a small coral cay situated in the easternmost of the Mamanuca Islands. It is a postcard-perfect paradise island with a pristine white sand ring, palm tree fringes, and a coral reef that spans over 500 acres.

On this slice of paradise, you can snorkel, kayak, paddleboard and swim in turquoise blue water. If you need a break from these adventure-packed activities, relax under a coconut tree or a private beach cabana with a fresh cocktail in hand as you soak in the surrounding beauty.

Qalito Island

Qalito Island is a private resort in the Mamanuca Archipelago to the west of Viti Levu in Fiji. It used to be called Castaway Island. It's about a two-hour boat ride from the mainland port of Nadi, across azure waters and past countless islands.

The island's white sand beach, lush green interior, and snorkeling reefs make it an ideal destination for families of all ages. The island spans 70 hectares, and guests can pick from various rooms, eat at multiple restaurants and bars, and relax in the adult-only pool.

Sabeto Hot Springs and Mudpool

Sabeto Hot Springs and Mud pool is run by a family and is open to the public. It is on the western coast of Viti Levu, not far from the city of Nadi.

Coating oneself in the soft mineral mud is a direct therapeutic experience. After 20 minutes in the sun, rinse it off in a series of pools with progressively warmer or cooler water. To cap off your experience, a soothing massage is available.

Even though the natural volcanic elements in the mud are said to revive and rejuvenate skin, getting covered in mud with friends is probably what makes this place so popular. It's one of the few spa treatments that both kids and their parents will appreciate.

The Botanic Garden of the Sleeping Giant

The Botanic Garden of the Sleeping Giant is in the Nausori Highlands, about 15 minutes north of Nadi. It is sometimes called Fiji's best-kept secret. In 1977, the American actor Raymond Burr set up these gardens to show off his collection of tropical orchids. The perfect climate in this cold valley has helped the collection grow and thrive.

It now covers 20 hectares and has more than 2,000 specimens. It's not just about showing off your collection of exotic orchids. You may waste a whole day just strolling around on the perfectly manicured grass. Have a picnic near the lily ponds and trickling streams of a tropical rainforest, and then walk along the canopy-covered boardwalks and paths.

Most of the plants and animals in this garden are not native to the South Pacific. Instead, they are from far away. Free guided tours are available, or you can explore on your own. You'll want to provide ample time to relax in a garden hammock or stroll to the top of the hill for breathtaking views.

Keep in mind that you are in a rainforest and should prepare accordingly by packing mosquito repellent and an umbrella. This destination is a must-see on any trip to Fiji!

Dravuni

Located more than 50 kilometers south of Suva on Fiji's mainland, Dravuni is an 80-hectare island. Despite being recently discovered by cruise ships, its remoteness has kept it rather primitive. Some residents have started to receive solar panels and satellite dishes, but roads and cars are still unheard of—a snapshot of life in the South Pacific as it has been for centuries.

While you're there, you'll hope the people can maintain this peaceful atmosphere. The Great Astrolabe Reef surrounds Dravuni and the other islands in the archipelago, making a massive lagoon with clear water where you can swim. A 2-kilometer stretch of white sand beach stretches along the island's western shore, where cruise ships drop anchor and guests are tendered to the town jetty.

At the island's northern end, there is a single small settlement with a school where the lovely locals try their utmost to accommodate tourists. Not only are Dravuni's large, undeveloped tropical beaches and reef snorkeling popular, but so are the island's hiking trails, which lead to breathtaking views from the southern mountaintop.

Robinson Crusoe Island

Robinson Crusoe Island is one of the most beautiful places in Fiji and gives visitors a real taste of nature. This unique tourist spot on the island of Likuri brings back beautiful traditional Fijian rituals, performances, and foods

The island is easy to get to from Nadi by car and a short boat ride from the southwest coast of Viti Levu across the bay to the island. Five hundred years of history have been uncovered for Likuri. This island is close to Bourewa, which many Fijians think was the first place where people lived in their country.

By giving them natural and traditional rooms, the resort caters to a small group of guests who want to experience the Coral Coast and its historically significant culture in a more authentic way. The resort has strict eco-friendly policies in place for conserving energy and limiting waste.

On the island, many resorts offer overnight stays, day trips, and food and entertainment packages. A traditional tribal fire dance also shows off the island's rich cultural history. Picking coconuts, snorkeling, and relaxing on the beach are just a few options.

The Yasawa Islands

The more popular Mamanuca Islands are to the south of the Yasawa Islands. The Yasawa Islands are just as beautiful as their more developed and less remote southern neighbors. One of these tropical paradises was used for filming the 1980 movie The Blue Lagoon, starring Brooke Shields.

Overall, these islands are drier than those to the south, and their peaks tend to be rounded before they drop sharply to beautiful white-sand beaches. Kayaking, swimming with manta rays, and visiting the cathedral-like Sawa-i-Lau caves are all popular activities on the Yasawa Islands.

There are no cities or even larger settlements in the Yasawa Islands, only small villages; however, there is a wide variety of places to stay. There are many high-end resorts, such as Paradise Cove Resort, Turtle Island, and Yasawa Island Resort & Spa.

From Nadi, visitors can take a seaplane, helicopter, or speedboat to one of these resorts or join Captain Cook Cruises on their small cruise ship, “MV Reef Endeavour.”

Denarau Island

Located 20 minutes drive from Nadi International Airport, roughly 216km from Vanua Levu and just off the west coast of Viti Levu lies the island of Denarau. This island is located at the tip of a small peninsula connected to the mainland via a bridge and offers a collection of hotels, spas, and a golf club in one convenient location.

Among the many hotels, restaurants, bars, stores, a marina, and even a waterpark, you'll discover those from Sheraton, Sofitel, Hilton, and Radisson Blu. Mangroves contribute to the area's darker sand and water, but the abundance of water activities make up for it.

Additionally, all the hotels feature fantastic pools and standard services. Denarau is a fantastic place to stay if you wish to explore the rest of Fiji or relax with your family and enjoy all the island has to offer.
